Seen On The Scene: Beyonce Has Some Fun In The Sun

One of my favorite female singers took a break from work, to enjoy some fun in the sun in Miami. Flygirl Beyonce is currently on her U.S. “I Am….” Tour. Next stop for her is July 1st in Atlanta at Phillips Arena followed by an Essence Festival performance on July 3rd at the Louisiana Superdome. The tour comprises her first full length concert since 2007.

She recently won 2 BET Awards for “Best Female R&B” and “Video of the Year” single ladies and has also been nominated for 8 Teen Choice Awards. The girl definitely works hard and deserves a little fun in the sun. Check to see when her tour is coming to a city near you.

      

New Music: Trey Songz

DOWNLOAD FULL ALBUM

I’ve only had my blog for a few days and here I am with yet another post about Mr. Songz! I can truly appreciate a talented hard working R&B artist, especially with the game the way it is now. I definitely think he’s what we’re missing and need in R&B right now (or maybe he’s just what I need, lol). Anyways, Trey Songz has released a complete album for his fans to download for free. The album is titled “Anticipated” and is comprised of mostly ballads. He’s pushing to have at least 20,000 downloads within the next couple of days (which I’m sure he’ll exceed) and 50,000 by the end of the week. To Tell or Not to Tell?

So, my girls & I were having a conversation & debating, if you and the person you’re dating should ask/tell each other your body count (# of sexual partners you’ve been with). One of my friends feels that it’s a DEFINITE “don’t ask & don’t tell” topic because it opens up the door for judgement to be passed. She says that if the number is “high” you start to pass judgement and instantly put that person in your “hoe” category, so to speak. And if it’s “low” they’re perceived to be good & innocent.

I definitely think that the past is the past and I rather not know the number of sexual partners the person I’m dating has had. It seems that men rather know moreso than women, because women are expected to be way less promiscuous than men. This is the unfair part of being a woman, women are automatically looked at as a “hoe” if they have a high body count, while guys are “expected” to have a high body count, with no negative connotation attached to it! Of course all of us wouldn’t mind knowing if our partner’s body count is low, but I think everybody downplays their number anyway so it’s all arbitrary! What do you guys think? Do you want to know the number of sexual partners the person you are dating has had?

Michael Jackson Dies at Age 50

In very sad news, sources are reporting that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, has passed away. Some sources are reporting that it was cardiac arrest or a heart attack, CNN has not confirmed the death, they are reporting that he is in a coma. According to TMZ:

“UPDATE: The 911 call came in at 12:21PM at his Holmby Hills home in L.A.

UPDATE: A Jackson family member tells TMZ Michael is in “really bad shape” and the brothers are headed to UCLA.

UPDATE: We just got off the phone with Joe Jackson, Michael’s dad, who says “he is not doing well.”

We’ve just learned Michael Jackson has died. He was 50. “

This is a very sad day in music. Celebrities are extremely devastated by the reported lost as well, taking to twitter to hold on to hope & send their condolences:

Hurricane Brings the House Down

Am I the only one embarrassed for Hurricane Chris as he performs “She Fine (Halle Berry)” on the House of Representatives floor in the state of Louisiana? He was  asked to “perform” for WHATEVER reason. I’m LMAO but embarrassed at the same time. It looks like the lady in the video next to him  was a little lost & embarrassed too, at first, but then she started to bob her head a little bit LOL. Here’s some of the actual lyrics of the song:

Mr. @SongzYuuup First Ever BET Award Performance

Trey Songz gets to perform for the first time ever at this years BET Awards in Los Angeles. I’m very excited for him! He is definitely one of my favorites right now and one of the best in the R&B game right now IMO. The man works extremely hard and is talented beyond belief. I wish he’d perform “Invented Sex” ft. Drake, but I’m sure he’ll be performing his latest single “I Need A Girl”. I’ve seen some of Trey’s best work in his mixtapes. The boy is vicious in the mixtape game. The man has swagger out of this world, some really nice vocals, and the fact that he’s been hitting the weights heavy doesn’t hurt either;-). The ladies definitely love Songz & I think this is his year!

He’s slated to drop his third studio album titled “Ready” August 4th. Also follow Trey on twitter, he plans to release new songs ever Monday up until the album drops.

King James & Superman Join Forces

The Cleveland Cavaliers have added Shaq to their roster. The Cavs are trading Sasha Pavlovic, Ben Wallace, $500,000 cash and the 46th pick in the draft ALL for the big fella. I wasn’t a big fan of this trade initially, because I thought the Cavs had so much potential with the unit they had. But I guess a big guy is the missing piece that they need. Although Shaq proved a lot of people wrong last season with his impressive play, his age and injuries still have me a little doubtful about the trade. Only time will tell! I’m definitely looking forward to all the pranks and jokes that’ll be going on between Lebron & Shaq off the court, both of  ’em are some of my favorite personalities in the NBA. But at the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter where Shaq goes if it’s not to the Lakers!! Guess he’ll be retiring in a Cavs jersey WITHOUT  another ring because the 2009-2010 season is OURS!
